“Demons” fill the streets, and shops in Ho Chi Minh City on Halloween

There are two more days until Halloween officially begins, but many places in Ho Chi Minh City have invested in eye-catching decorations, and many ghostly and horror images filled the streets.

Taking place on October 31 every year, Halloween is a festival originating in Western countries. When introduced to Vietnam, Halloween was well received by many people. Currently, restaurants, bars, and cafes… in Ho Chi Minh City have also been decorated to suit the festive season.

Some restaurants in the central districts of Ho Chi Minh City have been preparing for two weeks before the festival officially begins.

Anh Hung – an employee in the group specializing in making Halloween decoration models, said that after coming up with the idea, it will take on average 2 days to complete the work.

A giant dragon model, more than 10m long, is decorated at a bar on Bui Vien Street. According to the staff here, the restaurant took a week to complete all the decoration items.

To cater to the decorative needs of the people, many shops in Ho Chi Minh City are also busy selling makeup accessories.

Ms. Ngoc (black shirt) – an employee of a Halloween store on Nguyen Trai Street (District 5) is advising customers to buy products.

“Items such as costumes and accompanying accessories are the most chosen by customers,” Ngoc shared.

“I bought some things like model pumpkins and some other Halloween accessories to decorate for the atmosphere,” Thao (left) shares.

Many restaurants and bars on Bui Vien pedestrian street (District 1) have decorated many horror images during the “ghost festival” to attract customers.

Every little corner in a bar is decorated with ghosts, true to the spirit of Halloween. Take one step, you will see pumpkins, and flying bats, another step will be a wall full of spider webs or dangling dummies.

Although imported from abroad, Halloween is gradually becoming a popular festival for many Vietnamese. As interested and noticed as many major holidays of the year, Halloween places are attracting many people who love mysterious and ghostly spaces to visit.

In front of alley 148, Bui Vien Street (District 1) is also decorated with creepy ghost effigies.

There are 2 more days left for Halloween to officially take place, but in the past few days, Bui Vien West Street has been crowded with tourists and locals.
