Timely support given to needy people nationwide to overcome COVID-19 difficulties

NDO – On August 17, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s chapter in Tra Vinh Province handed over VND2.3 billion to seven districts, Duyen Hai Town and Tra Vinh City to facilitate the implementation of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in the locality.


Accordingly, the districts of Tra Cu and Cau Ngang received VND400 million each, Duyen Hai District was funded with VND300 million, while the districts of Cau Ke, Tieu Can, Chau Thanh and Cang Long as well as Tra Vinh City and Duyen Hai Town were allocated VND200 million each.

Nguyen Van Triet, Chairman of the VFF’s chapter in Tra Vinh Province, reported that VND30 billion has been donated to the organisation from around 670 businesses and individuals to contribute to COVID-19 combat in the province.

* The same day, Phuong Trang Group presented 100 oxygen generators and 500 pulse oximeter devices to the field hospital in Dong Hoa Town, Phu Yen Province, to support the treatment of COVID-19 patients in the locality.

Previously, the group granted 5,000 test kits, and 50 oxygen generators to the provincial general hospital in Phu Yen.

* Also yesterday, the Border Guard High Command of Soc Trang Province in coordination with Vinh Hai Border Post handed over two tonnes of rice and essential necessities to pagodas and needy households in Vinh Chau Town.

Over the past month, the provincial border guard has also delivered 10,000 face masks, 500 bottles of sanitiser, and 2,000 gift packages, each containing 10kg of rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, and soya source, to border residents to help ease COVID-19 difficulties.

* A delegation of the Hanoi City Women’s Association led by its Chairman Le Kim Anh presented 70 gifts to women living difficulties in Soc Son Province. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to staff at COVID-19 checkpoints in Trung Gia Commune, Soc Son Province.

Previously, the association collaborated with Clean Agriculture Joint Stock Company to grant 1,200 gift packages to poor female workers, women with disabilities, and women having serious diseases in 10 districts across the city. Each package was worth VND200,000 and included rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, and chicken eggs.

* In Son La Province, the provincial general hospital is hosting “Zero VND stalls” on August 17 and 19, offering essential items and food for poor who are receiving treatment at the hospital.
