HCMC – The authorities of Ca Mau Province allowed non-essential services to resume operations starting today, June 10, as Covid-19 outbreaks in some localities in Vietnam have been brought under control, according to a local official.

Le Quan, chairman of the provincial government, on June 9 issued guidelines on fulfilling the dual task of fighting the pandemic and ensuring local socio-economic growth, reported Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Specifically, the non-essential services allowed to reopen include beauty spas, gyms, yoga studios, football pitches, night markets and entertainment venues, while restaurants and street food stores can also resume operations.

The operators of these businesses have to ensure compliance with anti-virus measures as requested by the Ministry of Health, especially mask wearing in public places.

Meanwhile, other non-essential services/activities such as cinemas, massage and karaoke parlors, bars, clubs, internet and game shops, singing activities with large gatherings, passenger road transport services to/from virus-hit localities, meetings with patients, prisoners and those in drug rehab centers and social protection centers will remain suspended until June 14 or until further notice.

The chairman also demanded that local competent forces continue to operate Covid-19 checkpoints and make a list of people entering and exiting the province.

The provincial Department of Health was told to direct the provincial Center for Disease Control to collect, analyze and update data linked to people returning from virus-hit regions on a daily basis.
