An Lao is a mountainous district, 115 km northwest of Quy Nhon city center. The highest place is An Toan commune, 1,000 m above sea level, which is likened to the “gate of heaven” of Binh Dinh province.

The Bana people perform gongs and sinus dance, visitors can join.

Dong Mit Lake, a key irrigation project of the province, completed in 2021, is more than 500 hectares wide, becoming An Lao’s new sightseeing destination. Currently, Dong Mit lake is filled with water, creating a picture of a charming landscape on the curved roads around the lake.
