Golden Prize for Quality Nestlé continues 25-year journey of improving life quality for Vietnamese

Nestle Vietnam is among the companies awarded the golden prize as they fulfilled the seven criteria comprising role of leaders, strategic planning, customer and market orientations, measurement, knowledge analysis and management, human resource management and development, operation management and operation result.

The winners were evaluated and selected on two levels: the provincial/city council and the national council. The national council would propose some enterprises in the list suggested by the local-level council to the Minister of Science and Technology. Then, the minister would submit the final list to the Prime Minister to present the Vietnam National Quality Awards.

The Vietnam National Quality Awards, according to Nguyen Hoang Linh, vice head of the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, is an advanced implement based on comparison between enterprises’ operation and the criteria that is to evaluate their business activities and results under the international standards, define management level and quality, achievements and weaknesses, opportunities and future missions. With these, appropriate improving measures would be offered.

A measurement of development

Binu Jacob, general director of Nestle Vietnam, shared his pride in that the company was honored with the golden prize of the Vietnam National Quality Awards 2020 in the first year it took part in the event: “The award is a measurement of enterprises’ development, a tool as well as driving force for their development. Participating in the award helps enterprises not only further improve themselves by applying advanced tools in management but also make their productivity, quality and competitiveness better in both domestic and foreign markets.”

Quality, food safety, research and improvement, customer suitability, and humans are the cornerstone of success and competitive advantage of the company as well as the group. To do this, according to Jacob, Nestle Vietnam always ensures strict compliance with food safety management process, quality management, and labor safety in every stage of the operation and production processes, from inputs to complete products for customers in the supply chain.

Urs Kloeti, factory manager of Nestle Bong Sen, delivered his speech when honored to represent the company to receive the prestigious prize: “Investments in human resource training, policies for talents and acute business development strategy help Nestle Vietnam reach today’s achievements.”

“On the basis of uniformly and synchronously building and applying internal policies and standards in the management of production and business activities, including business principles, policies on quality management and safety, contractor policies, marketing and communications policies, human resource policies, governance policies, etc., while ensuring consistency and compliance with the laws of the host country and relevant international regulations which are the most stringent, we build ‘quality’ associated with the ‘brand’ of the company,” he said.

In addition to the golden prize of the Vietnam National Quality Awards 2020, Nestle Vietnam since 2014 has been voted into the Top 3 Best Places to Work in Vietnam by Alphabe. Last year, the company was recognized as “Typical Enterprise for Labors” by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also in 2020, the United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) presented Nestle Vietnam with the Women’s Empowering Principles (WEPs) award for its commitments and achievements in two categories, including gender equality at work.
