The provincial Department of Health has asked hospitals in the province to ensure all patients being admitted to or discharged from the hospitals are tested for Covid-19.

The province’s health system is now capable of performing 20,000 Covid-19 tests a day and expects to raise its capacity to 30,000 tests a day in the next 15 days.

Since May 5, the local authorities have fined 120 people for not wearing face masks in public places and three businesses for violating regulations on Covid-19 infection prevention and control.
