HCMC – The HCMC Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA) was asked to consider suspending the operations of 29 businesses at the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in HCMC’s District 7, aimed at promptly preventing the community spread of Covid-19.

Hoang Minh Tuan Anh, chairman of the district’s government, on July 11 wrote to HEPZA and the Tan Thuan Company, which owns Tan Thuan EPZ, putting forward suggestions to intensify Covid-19 preventive measures, reported Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper.

The District 7 authorities requested HEPZA and the Tan Thuan Company to inform these 29 enterprises that they need to lock down their companies to implement Covid-19 preventive measures, as these 29 firms reported probable Covid-19 cases.

Earlier, the local health authority conducted Covid-19 screening tests over the past few days and discovered that many workers of the Tan Thuan EPZ were suspected to be infected with Covid-19.
