The steppe is poetic and majestic, as beautiful as a 'wonderland' in Ha Giang

Suoi Thau steppe (Ha Giang) fascinates tourists because of its wild beauty, both poetic and majestic. At this time, Suoi Thau steppe (Ha Giang) is one of the destinations that attract many tourists, thanks to the poetic scenery in the autumn days: green corn fields, rice fields, buckwheat starting to bloom, mist and a sea of clouds. Suoi Thau is compared to "the Swiss steppe in the heart of Ha Giang" or "the wonderland in fairy tales".

This steppe is located about 5km from Coc Pai town, Xin Man district, Ha Giang province and at an altitude of over 1,200 m above sea level.

Mr. Uy, a tourist from Hanoi, just had a "super short" trip of only 3 days and 2 nights to Ha Giang to see Suoi Thau firsthand (September 13 - September 15). "Even though I'm busy with work, I'm so taken with these photos of the prairie that I decided to leave right away," Uy explained.

On the night of September 13, Uy got on the bus from Hanoi and arrived in Ha Giang City at 4 a.m. After resting for a few hours, at exactly 7:00 a.m., Uy rented a motorbike and found the way to Suoi Thau with his friends. The distance is about 140km.

"Because Provincial Road 177 is under construction, I must drive around the mountain road, which is quite small and terrible, with several potholes, making movement difficult. At 2:30 p.m., I arrived at Suoi Thau," Uy said.

However, that day, the weather was heavy rain, the road was slippery and muddy, and there were thick clouds. Uy is somewhat disappointed. He found a cafe to rest.

"Fortunately, by 4 p.m., the rain had stopped, the fog had dissipated, and the sun had shone. I had more than an hour to admire the dreamy, colourful steppe," Uy shared.

Uy stayed nearby for one night, hoping to return to the steppe the next morning. However, the weather was unfavourable, so he regretfully returned, changing his schedule to visit Phung and Thong Nguyen villages and then returning to Ha Giang City.

Suoi Thau still has a wild and rustic beauty. Each season, the steppe has its impressive scenery. In spring, mustard flowers bloom. In summer, the green colour of corn and rice fields makes visitors feel extremely cool. Autumn is a time of intersection: the rice ripens, and the first buckwheat of the season blooms, creating a gentle, poetic feeling. In the east, visitors can see buckwheat fields interspersed with tall rows of sandalwood rising in the middle of the vast steppe.

Currently, the total area of planned land in the steppe area of Suoi Thau village is 146 hectares, including land within the administrative boundaries of Coc Pai town and land within the administrative boundaries of Nan Ma commune. Tourists should note that this area is still a pristine steppe with few services and amenities.
