Report visualises prospects of Vietnam’s economy in 2017

The annual report was released at a national symposium in Hanoi on March 16 on the prospects of Vietnam’s economy development and the role of the State in completing economic institutions and the business environment.

The symposium, co-organised by the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, the National Assembly’s Economic Committee and the NEU, drew the participation of 400 delegates from Party and State run agencies, international organisations as well as scientists, economic mangers and experts.

The report reviewed outcomes and shortcomings in implementing socio-economic development goals in 2016; identified opportunities and challenges for realising the goals set for 2017 and the 2017-2020 period; and analysed the businesses environment in addition to the activities of start-up enterprises.

Delegates at the symposium highlighted the role played by the Government in facilitating economic growth, and suggested solutions to boost economic restructuring, reform economic growth model, including stimulating investment to high-tech agriculture, increasing support for private businesses, speeding-up equitisation of State-owned enterprises, and devising policies towards harmonious growth.
