Large-scale solid waste treatment plant to be built in Can Tho
The plant, which will be located in an area of over 53 hectares in Truong Xuan Commune, Thoi Lai District, has a total investment of more than VND1.054 trillion (US$47 million).
The project is expected to be constructed starting in February 2017 and put into operation in February 2018.
Once completed, with the waste incineration technology for power generation, the plant can treat 400 tonnes of garbage per day to generate electricity for the national grid.
According to General Director of Everbright International Company Chen Xiao Ping, Thoi Lai Solid Waste Treatment Plant is the first project that the company has implemented in Vietnam. He also committed that the plant would become one of key projects in the Mekong River Delta region.
