9X boy earns hundreds of millions per month from the hobby of ‘green glass’

After 5 years of researching and tinkering with making “green glass cages”, Mr. Tien Manh (31 years old, in Hanoi) decided to quit his office job and switch to designing miniature ecological gardens for sale. “This is a passion that comes from a love of nature. After realizing that the green space around me is gradually decreasing, I decided to research and create my own small ecosystems in my own glass cage.” Manh shared.

According to Mr. Manh, terrarium tanks are divided into two main types: growing plants in closed pots and growing plants in open pots. For the open type, the watering and caring like a normal bonsai. For pots with moss, players should mist daily to keep moisture, and dry-loving ones like succulents should only be watered 1-2 times a week. For closed bottles, it is much easier to care for, only 4-5 months, new players need to open the lid and mist once. The water vapor will condense in the wall of the vase and will keep the plant healthy.

Manh said that at first, his terrarium was damaged a lot. Then instead of hurrying to make sophisticated “green glass cages”, he worked hard to find and take care of single plants, making it simpler. “The terrarium works are all unique, because each work is arranged according to the improvisation of the performer, requiring meticulousness, patience and high precision. Even a professional can’t repeat it. exactly every millimeter of a terrarium sample I’ve made,” Manh said.

To make a terrarium work needs simple materials such as driftwood, stones, figurines, stream gravel, moss, small plants…

According to Manh, depending on the size, requirements and complexity, the price ranges for a terrarium from 1.2 million to 20 million dongs. Creating a terrarium tank takes a lot of time because the characteristics of these tanks cannot be mass-produced, so the number of sales is also limited.

Manh’s passion not only brings income but also green space for the house, so his family is very supportive.

Up to now, this elegant and healthy hobby brings the 9X guy an income of 80-100 million VND per month.
