Thirty-two off-road racers took part in the 2022 Nha Trang Offroad Challenger held by An Nam Tour in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, on Sunday.
In the competition, the racers competed in two classes and faced seven distinct tests, each with a different level of difficulty, including specifications for original pickup trucks and the modified pickup trucks.
The event was held on the sand dunes of the Dam Mon Peninsula, Van Phong Bay, Khanh Hoa Province, from September 30 to October 2.

According to Nguyen Le Thanh Nhat, director of An Nam Tour Trading Service Travel Company Limited, the organizer of the event, this was the first off-road car race in Khanh Hoa Province.
“As a member of the Nha Trang pickup truck team, I found Dam Mon to be the ideal location, so I organized a ‘playground’ for individuals who enjoy this sport," Nhat said.
"Therefore, new tourist and sports products will be added to the area, helping boost the tourism image of Nha Trang City and Khanh Hoa Province."

Tran Phan Thu Hong competed in the contest despite being over 60 years old.
She participated in multiple off-road races with her son since she has an endless passion for this daring activity, Hong said.
"I've been driving automobiles, including trucks, for about 40 years. I also take large displacement motorcycles on road trips on a regular basis," she said.
“We competed in the original pickup truck class, driving the Ford Ranger WildTrak.
“When racing on sandy terrain, the truck can easily sink into the sand, requiring skilled handling from the driver.
"This time, I entered the race to co-drive with my son."

The racing teams had to enroll for the following battle within 30 minutes of the end of one test, according to the regulations.
Otherwise, the team would forfeit its opportunity to compete in that competition.
The truck had to be parked completely within the area enclosed by the four specified stakes as it approached the finish line. Vehicles parked in the designated area were required not to break the ropes or crash the stakes.
