Up to now, there are no history books that specifically record the birth of the ancient temple, but it is estimated that the time to build the temple was in the early 19th century. Legend has it that a man fishing on this stretch of river netted his right. a woman’s body. He buried it on the island and set up a small shrine to worship the souls of the ill-fated. Since then, his life has gotten better. Rumors spread far and wide, causing people to flock to the shrine to pray for blessings more and more.

The people, boat owners then come here to pray for good fortune, for smooth sailing, for a peaceful highway. Gradually, they built a spacious temple to worship Ngu Hanh and Long Mau.

Before 1975, this was a famous pilgrimage site of Saigon people but then it was almost abandoned. The temple is ruined, desolate, cold; The wharf is also temporarily closed,

17 years later, Mr. Sau Hoa, a resident near the temple, together with Mr. Luc Cau – a Vietnamese-Chinese – campaigned to repair and restore all activities of the temple. It was Mr. Luc Cau who sketched and repaired the images at the temple with his own hands. Later he became the head of the temple management board.

After many restorations, Phu Chau Temple has become a spacious temple. In 2010, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City recognized Phu Chau Temple as an architectural and artistic relic.

Not only the unique terrain, but the image of more than 100 large and small dragons placed everywhere is also a special feature of the floating temple. At the entrance to the shrine and the main hall are huge dragons adoring. When entering, visitors will see many different dragon-shaped reliefs, covered with eye-catching colorful porcelain pieces.

Last weekend, Pham Huu Nghia (HCMC) – a young travel-loving person came to visit and admire Phu Chau Temple. As the second time coming here, Nghia chose to go early in the morning so that the space is open and not too crowded with tourists.

To get to the temple, from Go Vap market, visitors drive along Nguyen Thai Son street. At the end of the road, turn to Tran Bao Giao, go a few hundred meters more to the parking lot to cross the ferry to the temple. Visitors can take a ferry to the temple at a cost of 10,000 VND/way or 15,000 VND/round trip. Waiting time for the train is about 10 minutes, traveling about 5 minutes. Follow(Vietnamnet)
