HCMC – Among the 66 news domestic Covid-19 cases that the Ministry of Health reported this morning, June 10, HCMC outpaced other localities to have the most number of 26 cases.
Bac Ninh came in second with 23 cases, followed by Bac Giang with 16 cases and Ha Tinh with one case.
Up to 50 locally-infected cases were detected at quarantine facilities or in areas under lockdown.
The Ministry of Health also reported four imported cases in Long An.
As of this morning, Vietnam has had 8,020 domestic Covid-19 cases and 1,615 imported cases. The number of new cases in the current Covid-19 wave, which started on April 27, was 6,450.
Among the 39 provinces and cities hit by Covid-19 in the fourth coronavirus wave, 16 localities have undergone 14 consecutive days without any new domestic Covid-19 cases.
The HCMC Center for Disease Control late last night informed that three members in a family in District 1 had tested positive for Covid-19.
A woman was found to be diagnosed with the coronavirus when she had a medical checkup at the HCMC Hospital for Tropical Diseases on June 6. She is being treated at the Cu Chi Field Hospital.
Nine people were found to have close contact with her, including her husband and two children. The husband and one of the children have later tested positive for Covid-19 as well.
The two have been sent to the Can Gio Covid-19 Treatment Hospital.
In related news, Dien Bien Province has resumed the operations of interprovincial passenger transport vehicles between the province and Hanoi after 14 days of suspension. However, transport firms must not operate more than half of their vehicles and passengers must leave at least a seat vacant in between and occupy no more than half of the total seats of vehicles.
Over the past 21 days, the province has reported no new Covid-19 cases.
Son La has also allowed the resumption of interprovincial passenger transport services, food stalls, coffee shops and hairdressers’ but they must strictly employ anti-pandemic measures.
Similarly, Danang City on June 9 allowed restaurants, food stalls and coffee shops to continue to offer on-site services after three weeks without new Covid-19 cases.
The city also reopened public beaches but swimming in the beaches is allowed from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. only.
Quang Ninh has also reopened tourist and religious sites as the province has gone 31 days without new Covid-19 cases. Coffee shops, restaurants, and cultural and sport services have been also resumed. In addition, golf courses have been allowed to serve local customers.
