Vietnam reports one imported Covid-19 case

HCMC - The Ministry of Health has reported one new imported Covid-19 case in Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province, sending the country’s Covid-19 tally to 2,693 as of this evening, April 11.

The patient is a 27-year-old man residing in Duong Kinh District, Haiphong City. He entered the country through the Ha Tien International Border Gate and was immediately put under quarantine on April 8. He is being treated at the Ha Tien City Medical Center.

The country has reported 910 locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in 13 cities and provinces in the latest outbreak since January 27. Most of these localities have reported no new domestic infections for over two months.

As many as 2,429 Covid-19 patients in the country have made a full recovery. Among the active cases, 17 patients have tested negative for Covid-19 three times and 11 others have tested negative twice.

Nearly 38,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned to Vietnam from Covid-19-hit countries are being quarantined.

Up to now, 58,248 people in 19 cities and provinces nationwide have been injected with the Covid-19 vaccine, including 211 people in HCMC, Haiphong and Bac Ninh today.
