Moc Chau is a beautiful and large steppe region in the northern mountainous region. This place is famous for its 1,600-hectare grasslands with favorable climate and soil conditions for the development of agriculture, forestry, fishery, and tourism. Not only charming nature, the Moc Chau plateau is also a land of cultural diversity with delicious food and many interesting festivals to experience.

The vivid green of tea hills usually encircles Moc Chau (Son La) at any time of the year. Over 60 years of "seeding and taking root" on the plateau land, through many ups and downs, tea trees are not only a specialty to help people develop their economy but also attract tourists from all over the world to enjoy, check in and contribute to building the image of Moc Chau tourism.

Visitors can ride motorbikes around and navigate serpentine curves to travel from hill to valley and marvel at how spectacular natural scenery has been transformed. The scent of tea wafted in the air.
Moc Chau has the 4 most beautiful tea hills for tourists who want to visit: Tan Lap 1, 2, 3 Tea Hills and heart tea hill. Each location has its beauty, attracting photography enthusiasts and tourists alike.

In the middle of July, photographer Hoang Duong (Hanoi) went to Moc Chau to compose a set of photos of tea harvesting. Mr. Duong chose the Sugar Sub-Region - Heart Tea Hill, about 7km from the town center.
"Different from the hustle and bustle in the district center, this place has a peaceful, gentle and romantic beauty. I've been to Moc Chau often, but this is the busiest I've ever seen the tea pickers," remarked Duong. The typical start time for local farmers or tea farm laborers is 7 am.
Their hands are rhythmic and quick. On average, each kg of tea will receive 3,000 dong. Quick pickers will get 300,000 VND/day.

Every year, mid-March to mid-April and mid-July to mid-August are the two best times to take pictures of tea hills because these are the times when the young buds sprout, changing the color of the hill and giving it new life.

Mr. Duong spent 3 days walking around following tea pickers to "hunt" many impressive moments. The "giant" tea hill is typically viewed from high camera angles and is big, hidden, and populated.
Visiting the tea hill, visitors can borrow farmers' baskets to take pictures, learn about their tea picking or participate in agricultural experience activities.

After picking, tea will be put into baskets, cleaned, dried and packaged.
When the weather is cold and comfortable, and the scenery is most lyrical, visitors should visit the tea hill in the early morning or late afternoon.

Moc Chau Plateau is a land favored by nature with very suitable soil and climate conditions for tea plants to grow. Currently, the Moc Chau district has over 2,100 hectares of tea; fresh buds' annual output is over 25,000 tons. Additionally, over 10 companies, enterprises and factories are processing fresh bud tea, with a capacity of about 300 tons/day, creating jobs for over 3,000 households in raw material areas and about 600 regular workers in companies and enterprises.
Moc Chau has created a plan to protect grasslands and tea slopes to promote tourism.
