Two Vietnamese dishes on the list of 100 best dishes made of in the world

The informative site called "global culinary map" Taste Atlas published a list of the world's 100 most delicious dishes made from fish, including 2 rustic dishes of Vietnam.

Braised fish is a Vietnamese specialty made from fish parts with a little fat, and stored in a traditional clay pot. The main ingredients are usually howling fish, basa fish, perch, snakehead fish or some kind of sea fish with a mixture of fish sauce, sugar and coconut water, while other additives include scallions, onions or sliced garlic.

Braised fish is served with rice and a bowl of fish sour soup - the soup is also very popular in Vietnam.

In 2012, Christine Ha - a blind Vietnamese-American girl participated in the TV program "America Masterchef" overcame nearly 30,000 contestants to become the champion, cooked braised fish at the pre-qualification round and conquered the world-class culinary experts.

While braised fish is ranked at number 100, another Vietnamese fish dish, fish sour soup, is at number 18.

Fish sour soup is famous for its combination of sweet, spicy and sour flavors. Soups are usually made with tamarind broth and include ingredients such as pineapple, tomatoes, okra, bean sprouts or other vegetables.

The original fish sour soup is made with catfish, but some versions use carp, snakehead, eel or salmon. These soups are often sprinkled with cilantro and served with rice.
