Dracontomelum - a beautiful and “tasty” legacy of Hanoi
Old dracontomelum or Sau trees give Hanoi a special present for their beauty and as a food.
Every March when a variety of typical trees in Ha Noi like banyan, mango-pine or pride of India start to change their leaves, the capital city is like putting on a colourful charming coat.
It is also the photography time for many Hanoians. Driving along the streets where these trees are growing abundantly, you are likely to spot young women, in their best outfits or ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), posing in front of the cameras to capture one of the most special and beautiful moment of the city that last just in around one month.
Some of the streets that are attracting the most people coming for photos are Phan Đình Phung, Kim Mã, Ton Đuc Thắng, and particularly, those around Hoan Kiếm (Sword Lake). VNS
