Admiring sunrise, sunset on Dong Cao Plateau in northern Vietnam

With fresh air rolling hills, the Dong Cao Plateau in northern Vietnam is becoming a popular camping destination for outdoor lovers looking for a weekend getaway.

About 150 kilometers from the center of Hanoi lies the Dong Cao Plateau in Son Dong District, Bac Giang Province, known for its marvelous nature.

While getting to Dong Cao is relatively easy, finding a campsite typically requires a challenging hike or some serious offroad motorbike skills.

The road to Dong Cao requires visitors from Hanoi to travel along National Highway 5 and over the Thanh Tri Bridge, then on to National Highways 37 and 31 until reaching Thach Son Commune, which is home to Dong Cao Plateau.

It typically takes three to four hours to travel there by motorbike.
