HCMC – A coastal road connecting Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province and Binh Thuan Province will be upgraded and widened at a total cost of over VND6.5 trillion.

The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on June 17 started the upgrade of the 77-kilometer-long coastal road, connecting all coastal districts and cities in the province with Binh Thuan Province.

The road will pass through Phu My Town and the districts of Long Dien, Dat Do, and Xuyen Moc and have six to eight lanes, with a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

The project’s components are set to be finished and put into operation from the second quarter of 2025 to the third quarter of 2026.

This project upgrades and expands the Vung Tau-Xuyen Moc road, which is currently narrow and unable to accommodate the increasing traffic volume, and facilitates regional linkages with Phu My Town.

Upon completion, Vung Tau-Binh Thuan coastal road and other key infrastructure projects, including Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway, Phuoc An Bridge, and highways connecting routes from National Highway 56 intersection to National Highway 51B and 51C roundabouts, are expected to generate momentum for coastal tourism development at Long Hai, Phuoc Hai, and Binh Chau beaches in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province.

The project will also link the province with Cai Mep–Thi Vai port cluster, Long Son industrial park, and Go Gang airport, as well as other key traffic routes in the region.
