NDO – The Delegates Committee under the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee held a conference in Hanoi on April 15 to educate first-time NA candidates.

Speaking at the conference, Politburo member and NA Permanent Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the effectiveness and efficiency of the NA's activities need the important contribution of full-time NA deputies.

The NA Permanent Vice Chairman who is also Vice Chairman of the National Election Council added the selection of the quality and number of full-time NA deputies is the responsibility of the NA's Party Committee and the NA Standing Committee, and at the same time it also depends on the qualifications, capabilities and strengths of each candidate.

At the conference, the candidates listened to basic knowledge about the NA; the position and role of full-time NA deputies at Central level; legal processes on elections and campaigning; election campaign skills; experience, skills in formulating and presenting action plans; experience and skills in contact with voters, etc.

The conference will last until April 16.
