SON LA – Moc Chau plum flowers are in the most beautiful season of the year, Na Ka and Mu Nau valleys are two places chosen by many tourists.

About 180 km from Hanoi, Moc Chau district, has about 1,300 hectares of plums. From late January to mid-February every year is the plum blossom season, attracting tourists from all over to visit, take photos and camp, according to the Moc Chau District Portal.

The manager of a homestay in Moc Chau said that from the first days of February, many areas were full of rooms, especially on weekends.

The two valleys with the largest plum growing area and the most visited in Moc Chau are Na Ka and Mu Nau. Tourists traveling in groups or with elderly people and children often choose Na Ka because this valley is easy to move, many plum gardens are located on both sides of the road, convenient for sightseeing.

Plums in Na Ka are often planted in rows, large trees, flowers bloom evenly and there are many costume rental shops for visitors to create the best photos.

According to Mr. Trang A Nang, owner of a plum garden in Na Ka plum valley, although the weather in the first days of February in Moc Chau is not ideal, it is sunny and cloudy, the temperature is low and sometimes there is drizzle. , visitors to the garden to visit are still very crowded. On an average weekday, his garden welcomes about 100-150 guests, over 300 guests on weekends.

For those who are adventurous, like the scenery of rocky mountains, plateaus and young people often choose Mu Nau valley to experience. Mu Na is not easy to go, the road has many dangerous steep passes not for people with weak steering and is only suitable for cars under 7 seats with high ground clearance. There is also a motorbike taxi service to shuttle into the valley if you are not confident and steady on the steering wheel.

Plum blossoms in Mu Nau are considered to bloom more evenly than in Na Ka, covering the whole valley white. The plums here are planted along the hillside, and mountain slope, combined with mossy stone slabs and gray and white ancient rock cliffs to create a romantic scene.

The plum blossom season in Moc Chau usually lasts about two weeks, depending on the weather and humidity, the blooming time may be different each year.

This year, according to local people, plum blossoms bloom later than the same period last year because the cold air comes late. Flowers begin to bloom after Tet and are expected to bloom beautifully until the end of January 22.

Not only come to take photos during the day with the entrance fee to the garden of about 20,000 to 30,000 VND, many families also camp overnight at the garden to see the flowers and have new experiences. Tent rental price for the day is about 150,000 – 200,000 VND, overnight rental is 250,000 – 300,000 VND.($1=24,000 VND)

“At night, it’s cold 5-6 degrees Celsius, the whole family gathers in the tent to turn on the heater. In the morning, I wake up to watch the sunrise in the middle of the plum blossom garden blooming as white as snow overhead. What makes me happiest is that my children were very happy. enjoy the beautiful experiences here,” shared Mr. Hiep, a tourist from Hanoi to camp in Moc Chau.

Mr. Bui Van Hiep (Wild Horse), one of the popular photographers in Moc Chau, said that this year plum blossoms bloomed on the occasion of spring travel after Tet, so many tourists flocked to see the flowers, causing Moc Chau to burn the photographer.

“Visitors often have to book a few days in advance for the photographer to arrange the work. At the weekend, I can earn 4-4.5 million dong a day from taking and editing photos for tourists,” Hiep said.

The road to the plum orchards has many slippery sections due to fog and high humidity. Visitors should choose a visit time between 9am and 4pm, do not go too early because the morning dew has not dissipated and go too late, there will be no sun to take beautiful pictures. Visitors should bring warm clothes, socks, towels to keep the body warm because the daytime temperature in Moc Chau fluctuates between 12-17 degrees Celsius.
