The beauty of Ganh Da Dia in Phu Yen

Ganh Da Dia, a 200 million-year-old natural heritage on the coast of An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district (Phu Yen) has long become an ideal check-in point for a summer day trip.

About 35 km from Tuy Hoa city center to the north, Ganh Da Dia natural heritage in An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district has long become an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

In January 2021, Phu Yen received a special national relic certificate for Ganh Da Dia scenic spot. This is a natural heritage that is considered “unique” in Vietnam. Tens of thousands of hexagonal, circular, or square stone columns connect consecutively like an interesting art installation on the beach.

According to geological experts, Ganh Da Dia was formed from volcanic eruptions. The hot lava flows when meeting the cold heat of the seawater solidifies, forming unique rocks on the coast of Tuy An district, Phu Yen province.

The black rocks and red rock rapids are like long arms reaching out to embrace the sea, creating a lyrical and poetic space for this landscape.

From a high hill, visitors can look out into the distance to admire Ganh Da Dia just like a “giant honeycomb” or thousands of mysterious black plates hanging on the beach.

My Chi (living in Hanoi) check-in with unique hexagonal stones. “Listening to friends’ introduction about Ganh Da Dia landscape, the first time I visited this place, I found this place very magical,” Chi confided.

Nguyen Hong Lien, a tourist from Hanoi, shared that when she first arrived in Phu Yen, she was particularly impressed with the peaceful space here. “Definitely in the near future, I will come back to explore this place more,” said the female tourist.

Visitors enjoy taking souvenir photos with the waves crashing on the cliffs.

Along the coast next to Ganh Da Dia, visitors can explore some more beautiful colorful cliffs to stop to enjoy the natural beauty or admire the fanciful sunset at the end of a summer day.

After exploring the scenic Ganh Da Dia, visitors can enjoy free music in the “Old Soul” space next door. In the stone culture of Phu Yen, the peak of the creativity of the ancients with the main stone is the pair of stone lute and stone trumpet dating back about 2,500 years. The stone lute set consisting of 8 stone bars with the most complete scale in Vietnam and the stone trumpet set consisting of two trumpets divided into “male” – “female” have become a unique stone cultural heritage of this land.
