Vinamilk is in the top 5 most sustainable milk brands globally

Vinamilk is the only representative of Southeast Asia in the top 5 "Global most sustainable dairy brands", according to a report made by Brand Finance.

The top brand valuation firm in the world with its headquarters in the UK, Brand Finance, has just released the "Global Food and Beverage 2023" study. Besides value and strength, the brand's "sustainability" factor is highlighted in this year's report, as this trend is being promoted internationally.
With a quantitative level of 253 million USD, Brand Finance placed Vinamilk fifth among the top 10 companies in "Sustainability Perceived Value - SPV". As for sustainability awareness scores (calculated on a 10-point scale), Vietnamese dairy enterprises ranked first in the top 10, reaching 5.75 points, surpassing many other brands from countries with developed dairy industries, such as China, France, Japan, etc.

Also, according to the above report, this year's Vinamilk brand is valued at an increase of 6% compared to 2022 to reach 3 billion USD, continuing to maintain the 6th rank in the top 10 most valuable milk brands globally and the top 2 strongest brands globally of the dairy industry.

Previously, according to the ranking of "100 most valuable brands in Vietnam in 2023," also announced by Brand Finance, Vinamilk is the leading enterprise in the "Top 10 highly sustainable brands" in Vietnam.

Alex Haigh, Representative of Brand Finance in the Asia-Pacific region, said that Vinamilk aims for net zero emissions (Net Zero 2050) and continuously leads in the circular economy model, renewable agriculture. In addition to the environment, the business promotes support for the local community and customers, such as the Rise of Vietnam Milk Fund program, with more than 42 million glasses of milk delivered to Vietnamese children.

Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Chief Financial Officer of Vinamilk, said that reducing carbon emissions and leading products for responsible consumption are two of the many aspects of sustainable development the company is focusing on. Consumers are the driving force forcing businesses to practice sustainable development. Customers are paying more and more attention to environmental issues and community benefits besides product quality and making increasing demands on green products. Mr. Liem remarked, "This is difficult, but it will be the strongest impetus for us to develop more sustainably.

During the strategic period 2022-2026, Vinamilk has announced that sustainable development will become one of the four strategic spearheads and action programs, along with the roadmap to reach the Net Zero goal by 2050. This is also the first dairy company in Vietnam to have both factories and farms that are carbon neutral according to the Pas 2060:2014 standard. According to this standard, Nghe An Dairy Factory and Nghe An Dairy Farm are the first units to achieve carbon neutrality.

Vinamilk invests in the sustainability of the business in general and the brand in particular in a process, not just in the short term. Since 2012, this business has issued a Sustainable Development Report according to world standards and has a third-party audit. This was also when Vinamilk implemented a series of sustainable development projects that have brought positive results, such as the "One million green trees fund for Vietnam", deploying solar and green energy for the whole farm and factory set.

This year, the Vietnamese dairy industry giant also implemented a series of new projects to promote this process, such as "Planting Trees Towards Net Zero" (coordinated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), "Vinamilk Net Zero Forest Ca Mau Cape"; Complete inventory and measurement of greenhouse gases at factories and farms; Research and develop products with green and sustainable elements...

These activities have contributed to bringing messages about sustainable development from businesses to employees and consumers and spreading more widely to the community, promoting sustainable consumption trends.
