CNN screens promotional videos on beauty of Hanoi
Two promotional video clips titled 'Hanoi – the heart of Vietnam', and 'Hanoi – the cradle of heritage', have been screened on the Cable News Network (CNN).
The 30-second clips feature scenic spots and heritage sites of the capital city.
In the 'Hanoi – the heart of Vietnam', Phoebe Lee, a well-known Australian travel writer, was seen enjoying a cyclo tour, a motorbike ride, a chat with a street vendor, and a visit to Hoan Kiem Lake and Huong (Perfume) Pagoda.
She also tried Vietnamese drinks at a small càfe at Hanoi Old Quarter.
Earlier, Hanoi authorities and CNN reached a communication cooperation deal for 2017 and 2018, with the US channel agreeing to help Hanoi produce 30-second promotional videos, 3 and 5 minutes reports and a 30-minute programme.
The promotion campaign is expected to introduce Hanoi to millions of people across the globe via CNN, which is an American cable and satellite television channel available in more than 212 countries and territories.

Vietnam suspends second news site this month
Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications has issued a three-month suspension to news website Tam Nhin (www.tamnhin.net) that began on Thursday. In a decision issued the same day, the ministry said Tam Nhin violated rules defined in its operating license. Vietcombank Securities to issue $8.89b of bonds
Vietcombank Securities Co Ltd (VCBS) plans to issue 200,000 bond notes to 100 investors on February 15. The face value of the bond has been set at VND1 million (US$44.44).
