HCMC – The Vietnam Records Organization, Vietkings, has released a list of the top 20 must-see sites and excursions in Vietnam for domestic and international tourists, particularly during the Lunar New Year holiday, or Tet.

Paragliding in Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai Province, flying a seaplane over Halong Bay in Quang Ninh Province and riding a hot-air balloon in Phan Thiet in Binh Thuan Province are on the list.

As for heritage tourism, travelers should visit Hoa Lo Prison in Hanoi, the ancient town of Bao Vinh in Thua Thien-Hue Province and and the ancient town of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province.

Visitors to the Mekong Delta may enjoy the home-made chocolate farms in Tien Giang Province, Cai Rang Floating Market in Can Tho City, Tra Su Cajuput Forest in An Giang Province, and the performances of Vietnamese classical opera, or hat boi, in Vinh Long Province.

Other favorable activities include touring Yok Don National Park in the province of Dak Lak in the Central Highlands and taking a luxury train ride through the central region, among others.
