HÀ NỘI — Some 6.5 million Vietnamese travelled abroad last year, up 15 per cent from 2015, according to the Việt Nam Tourism Association.
Over 240,000 visited South Korea in the first six months of last year, an increase of 58 per cent compared with 2015.
VITA deputy chairman Vũ Thế Bình said the increase in the numbers led to a large rise in spending, with outbound travellers spending US$7-8 billion abroad.—VNS
