TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards 2021 have named five hotels in Vietnam among the world's top hotels in various categories.

1. Hanoi La Siesta Diamond Hotel (Lo Su Street, Hanoi)

Ten rooftop hotels have made it onto Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice list for 2021, with many boasting standout features such as infinity pools and breathtaking city-scape views.

The winners were determined by an algorithm that analysed properties tagged with ‘rooftop bar’ or ‘rooftop terrace’ on Tripadvisor – along with the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings that mention ‘rooftop’ (as well as its synonyms), the Metro UK reported.

Hanoi La Siesta Diamond Hotel in Hanoi has taken first place on Tripadvisor World’s Top Rooftop Hotels list – and with jaw-dropping skyline views, it’s easy to see why.

The hotel, located on Lo Su Street to the east of the Old Quarter, is only a short walk from Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake.

One reviewer said: ‘The sky bar is a must visit with the scenic city – probably the best place to enjoy a sun-downer. Lots of corners for taking photos, and the bar itself is worth being photographed.’

2. La Sinfonia del Rey Hotel and Spa (Hang Dau Street, Hanoi)

The hotel scoops third position on Tripadvisor World’s Top Rooftop Hotels list. This luxury boutique hotel has a sky bar that’s perfect for watching the sunset or soaking up the city horizon.

One individual commented: ‘The most stunning hotel I have ever seen with the most exceptional sky bar.’

3. JM Marvel Hotel & Spa (Hang Da Street, Hanoi)

The Metro UK recommended “Enjoy a drink on the roof of this Hanoi hotel and take in the incredible sights of the capital.”

A traveller said: ‘Lovely rooftop bar where you can enjoy a quiet drink away from the hustle and bustle of this crazy but fantastic city.’

In 2020, JM Marvel Hotel & Spa was in the 16th place among the world's top 25 based on traveler recommendation of the Trip Advisors Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best Awards. It was called a "beautiful hotel for experiencing Hanoi".

4. Peridot Grand Hotel and Spa (Duong Thanh Street, Hanoi)

The Peridot Grand Hotel and Spa, a five-star boutique property in Hanoi managed by AIRA Hospitality Group, was fourth in a list of 25 hotels in the "hottest new hotels" category.

Situated on Duong Thanh Street in the bustling Old Quarter, it has 105 rooms and suites, several themed restaurants and bars, an infinity swimming pool, a spa, and meeting rooms.

Daily Mail reported that in the 'hottest new hotels' category - a new category for 2021 - Arinna Cappadocia in Turkey claims the gold medal, with one guest calling it 'more than perfect' on Tripadvisor.

The other highly-ranked hotels in this category are Armenaki Santorini (second); the Anttunina Pousada Spa, Brazil (third); and Hotel Bidaia in San Sebastian, Spain (fifth).

Tam Coc Garden boutique resort, a small hotel in Ninh Binh Province, around two hours to the east of Hanoi, finished 11th in the "picture perfect hotel" category (hotels with gorgeous photos).

The resort is near the Tam Coc – Bich Dong area, part of the Trang An Landscape Complex UNESCO heritage site, which is home to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu during the reign of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980 CE).

2021 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Hotel winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and ratings posted on Tripadvisor between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020 specific to each award subcategory, as well as an additional editorial process.

According to a recent Tripadvisor survey, about 45 percent of Americans are planning to travel internationally this year, and 64 percent are planning to stay in a hotel this year.
