HCMC – The domestic fuel retail prices were revised up by VND256-VND566 per liter or kilogram at 3.00 p.m. today, May 12, marking the second consecutive increase since April, according to an announcement released by the Ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance.

The ceiling price of E5 RON92 gasoline is now VND18,426 per liter, up VND438 per liter, while the price of RON95 gasoline is not higher than VND19,531 per liter, up VND370, the local media reported.

Diesel oil and kerosene rose by VND446 per liter to VND14,774 and VND566 per liter to VND13,825, respectively, while heavy fuel oil is priced at VND14,279 per kilogram, up VND256 per kilogram.

The ministries decided not to extract money from any fuels to replenish the national fuel price stabilization fund.

Meanwhile, local fuel traders were allowed to tap the fund at VND1,900 for each liter of E5 bio-fuel sold to customers, VND1,050 for each liter of RON95 petrol, VND500 for each kilogram of heavy fuel oil and VND400 for each liter of diesel oil or kerosene.

This is the second consecutive time that local fuel prices have been adjusted up since April. On April 27, fuel retail prices in the local market inched up by VND182-VND432 per liter or kilogram.

The State-run Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), the country’s leading fuel trading firm, said that the balance of its stabilization fund stood at VND1 trillion before this upward adjustment.
