Eight fresh imported cases of Covid-19 reported

HCMC – Vietnam’s Covid-19 tally jumped by eight to reach 2,824 cases as of this morning, April 23, with the latest cases including six Vietnamese and two foreigners who were quarantined upon their arrival in the country, said the Ministry of Health.

Of them, three local women, one Indian expert, one Turkish woman entered Vietnam from Ukraine, India, Turkey, Dubai through Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC on April 14 and 18. They are under medical treatment at Cu Chi Field Hospital in HCMC.

The three remaining cases included two men and one woman, aged 30-69. They were taken to a quarantine center in Nam Dinh Province after arriving at Van Don International Airport on April 20 from Japan. They are being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi.

To date, 2,490 coronavirus patients have fully recovered. Fatalities remained at 35.

Further, more than 39,000 people linked to Covid-19 patients or returning to Vietnam from virus-hit regions are under quarantine.
