PM suggests forming COVID-19 vaccine fund
NDO/VNA – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 24 suggested establishing a COVID-19 vaccine fund to
NDO – National Assembly deputies made donations to the COVID-19 prevention and control fund at the first session of the 15th National Assembly on July 24.
At the launch ceremony, NA Secretary General and Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that the NA Office launched the donation to mobilise more resources for the fund, noting that this is an even more meaningful activity during the current surge in the pandemic.
He added that as of morning of July 24, nearly 87,000 people had been infected with COVID-19 virus in various localities across the country, affecting both the socio-economic situation and the health system.
He called on NA deputies to respond to the call from the NA Office to join hands in fighting the pandemic.
* The Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) said on July 24 it will donate VND52.5 billion (US$2.28 million) to Ho Chi Minh City and 21 other provinces and cities to combat the pandemic.
Since 2020, the bank has donated over VND200 billion (US$8.7 million) to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
