Foreign investors pledge US$29 million for Ha Nam in first quarter
This means that Ha Nam will have 160 active foreign-invested projects with total capital of more than US$2 billion, in addition to 102 domestic projects worth VND14.366 trillion (US$632.1 million).
In the first three months, output from industrial parks in Ha Nam province was estimated at VND10.709 trillion (US$471.2 million), up 25% over the same period last year.
Businesses in these zones also exported goods worth US$290 million, up 20.8% year on year, and contributed VND536 billion (US$23.6 million) to the local government budget, a year-on-year rise of 52%.
They also created an additional 2,480 jobs, raising total employment at industrial parks in the province to nearly 51,750.
According to a provincial official, Ha Nam regularly provides information and holds meetings with both domestic and foreign investment promotion agencies to foster investment in the province’s industrial parks.
The province has also worked closely with infrastructure developers to hold investment promotion events; pushed through with administrative reforms and urged infrastructure owners to speed up site clearance and construction.
In addition, the industrial park management board also cooperated with other relevant agencies to ensure investors access to electricity and water, and facilitate them in recruiting new employees and completing administrative procedures.
