There is a very different Ta Xua besides cloud hunting!

The time has come when Ta Xua is an indispensable name on the map of famous tourist destinations in Vietnam. The most outstanding feature when mentioning Ta Xua is the clouds. The clouds here are many, even and poetic, more impressive than in other areas. However, Ta Xua clouds are already too familiar. Feel Ta Xua from other angles to see that pristine Ta Xua is still a worthy place for wandering souls.

Terraced fields in Xim Vang

As a highland commune in Bac Yen district, Son La, Xim Vang is mainly inhabited by the Mong. Xim Vang commune consists of 7 villages in the Ta Xua nature reserve, about 32km from the centre of Bac Yen district. Xim Vang is the second Hoang Su Phi, with majestic natural scenery and terraced fields showing off their golden colours in the wind. Every season, Golden Purple has its own beauty that makes people fascinated. During the annual flood season (around April - May), when water sources are abundant, people focus on cultivating land and rice. The terraced fields are filled with water, sparkling and shimmering like mirrors reflecting from the ground, stretching to the horizon. Create a lush green space during the rice growing season (June - August). When the rice season is ripe (September - October), all the terraced fields are covered with a bright yellow, like a giant golden carpet, and the yellow fields are full of Autumn colours.

When the rice is ripe, visitors will admire the image of the Mong. Conveniently on the way, visitors can go to Xim Vang waterfall (right on the highway) to try the feeling of cool bathing in the waterfall in the middle of the scorching summer sun.

Wander into Dinosaur Spines

Dinosaur Spines is a beautiful "cloud hunting" and check-in location, 14km from Ta Xua Centre along Hang Dong Street. Without clouds, you can admire the majestic mountains like a painting and breathe fresh air. Or sit and eat grilled eggs, corn, meat skewers and black sticky rice on the way down your spine. Traditional costumes are wearing a hump on the back and harvesting rice. The sounds of children freely playing, the sounds of villagers chatting, and kitchen smoke looming from stilt houses. This creates the beauty of simple labour that visitors will only have the opportunity to see when coming to the Northwest. In particular, visitors can rent media costumes to take photos and participate in rice harvesting experience activities with people in Xim Vang terraced fields.

Sun hunting is also an interesting experience. The sun shining through the beautiful ravines, the bright colours of dawn and the green season of the awakening mountains and forests create a magical, enchanting scene.
From Dinosaur spine, go about 2km along the mountainside, and you will see the Hang Dong Hydroelectric Dam. The mountain lake in the middle of the forest is a beautiful background for photography.

Suoi Sap 2 Hydroelectric Reservoir

Suoi Sap Hydropower Plant is more than 20km from the centre of Ta Xua Town. The route is very majestic and poetic. The brilliant endpoint is Suoi Sap Hydroelectric Lake. Suoi Sap 2 Hydroelectric Reservoir is the confluence of countless small streams of the two most remote villages in Son La, Hang Dong - Lang Sang. The lake's surface is usually very flat, mussel soup green and is compared to the second Nho Que River. If you row a boat on the lake, you will feel like you are walking in the middle of a deserted valley; the scenery on both banks becomes mysterious and lonely.

Visit Sang Village

Sang Village in Mong means "hard to think" because the road there is arduous and dangerous. The Dinosaur Spines are about 20km. Going past the Dinosaur's Back, passing through a magical primeval forest with thousands of ancient pomu trees and forest fern walls. There is no signal in many places inside the village, and many people need to speak Kinh fluently. Sang Village is an ideal destination if you want to find a place completely isolated from the outside world.

Ta Xua clouds are very beautiful, but because they are so impressive, tourists accidentally forget the other beauties of Ta Xua. Therefore, with the above locations, Ta Xua is still worth experiencing, with or without clouds!
